WELCOME TO AQUA PENNY’S
Chef Penny Mufuka has been bringing the Flavors of Thailand to the Kansas City Area since
2013. Penny was born and raised in a rural farming region of Northern Thailand between
Bangkok and Chiang Mai, the cultural soul of the country. With little opportunity, she left
everything and came to America 25 years ago seeking a better life with only $800 that she
managed to save, and clothes on her back. It was by chance she found her voice and her
happiness while here through food. Penny’s natural creativity in preparing and sharing great
food led her to where she is today.
That passion continued and transformed initially into Bamboo Penny’s, and now into Aqua
Penny’s. Where she is combining seafood with the traditional flavors of Thailand, with sweet,
sour, salty and spicy, balanced with the addition of aromatic herbs and spices, creating complex
and nuanced taste experiences. Along with Traditional Seafood dishes, Fish & Chips, Seabass,
Salmon, and more. Adding in a Fresh Oyster Bar Experience with Fresh Oysters flown in daily
from the East Coast and West Coast, from the finest purveyors available, Hama-Hama Oyster
Company, and Island Creek Oysters. Along with a multitude of Fresh Shrimp, Lobster Tails,
Baked and Dressed Oysters, and Fresh Steamers.
Aqua Penny’s is a special place for friends and family to gather and enjoy all the wonderful
possibilities that come from sharing a delicious meal, with craft cocktails, extensive wine listing,
and perhaps the best selection of select spirits in the Kansas City area, while enjoying the
company of friends and family.
